Sub: Advisor Committee Formation

We are delighted to announce the formation of the ANTA advisory committee for 2024-2026. The committee includes esteemed members: Dr. Lokendra Thakur, Dr. Dasharath Lohar, Mr. Mukesh Karna, Mrs. Sunita Dev, and Mr. Ranjeet Babu Prasad. All our advisors are highly qualified professionals holding prestigious roles in various walks of life. Their diverse expertise and dedication will be instrumental in guiding our initiatives, promoting and celebrating our shared values, and ensuring our organization’s continued growth and excellence. We look forward to their invaluable contributions and collaborative efforts as we strive to achieve our goals and uphold our commitment to excellence. 

Dr. Lokendra K Thakur is an ANTA’s life member and a healthcare professional serving as a Medical Director of Trident Medical Center, Charleston, SC. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from New York Medical College, NY. 

Dr. Thakur is originally from Siraha, Nepal. He is an ardent supporter of our culture and tradition and is actively involved with construction of Hindu temple in Pennsylvania. He is always eager to help the community and provide suggestions and guidance for the benefit of the organization and our community.

Dr. Dasharath Lohar was born and grew up in Kapilvastu, Nepal and presently resides in Cary, NC. He is currently employed with BASF in the Raleigh-Durham area. Dr. Lohar completed his PhD in Plant Biotechnology from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and MBA from NC State University.

Dr. Lohar is actively involved in community service in the area. He served on Nepal Center of North Carolina (NCNC) board soon after its establishment, and he is currently on the advisory committee. Dr. Lohar has been a volunteer with Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA since 2001.          

Mr. Mukesh Karna is originally from Mahottari, Nepal, currently living in Fairfax, VA. He has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and has been in the IT Industry ever since he graduated in 1996. He has worked for Mercantile (Nepal), and in different financial Institutions’ IT Department in the USA.

He is also an ardent supporter of the Maithil Culture & Tradition and is always eager to help the community back in any shape and form. He joined ANTA as a Life Member and has served 2 full terms in the Central Executive Committee as a Treasurer.

Mrs. Sunita Dev is an Accountant by profession and lives in Cary, NC. 

She moved to the USA, when her father, Narayan Deo, came to do his master’s at Duke University in 1980. Her mother, Annapurna Deo, is one of the founders of ANTA. Mrs. Dev has two children, a daughter in Medical School and a son studying to be a musician. She and her husband are very passionate about their root culture and believe that it is our duty to honor the society where we come from regardless of where we are today. 

Mr. Ranjeet Babu Prasad has served in the local California Chapter in various capacities and has been instrumental in many local events of ANTA. He has contributed to almost every fundraiser of ANTA, especially during COVID years and as recently as the Holi event in CA. His projects in Nepal have directly benefited ANTA. He is originally from Janakpur, Nepal, and is currently living in San Fransisco, CA.

Mr. Ranjeet Babu Prasad inspires many Nepalese community members to set up their own enterprises and create job opportunities for others.
