The 4th convention of the Global Bhutanese Organisation (GBO), a non-profit institution of the Bhutanese Diaspora was held in Reynoldsburg,OH (USA) announcing its first humanitarian support for children in Bhutanese refugee camps in eastern Nepal.
It was announced at the convention held on Saturday that GBO will fund the education of 209 children in Beldangi and 96 in Pathari Sanischare camps. There are 10 teachers, 1 incharge and 3 caretakers guard, 1 kitchen assistant, 1 project field manager and 1 health coordinator in Beldangi School while Pathari Sanischare School has 5 teaching staff, 1 Administrative support, 1 caretaker, 1 kitchen assistant and 1 project field coordinator. The education support programme is implemented by respective camp management committees. The projected budget for the next four years is approximately 164,240.61$.
GBO is assisting 20 families with 58 members in the Beldangi camp and 17 families with 55 members in the Pathari Sanischare camp through its health insurance program. The organization is planning to expand this program to cover an additional 50 families in the coming year.
Attended by some over 200 individuals, the event also saw cultural performances by Voice of Nepal season 3 Kiran Gajmer, Voice of Nepal kids Season 3 Anuhya Tamang and other local artists. Devendra Pokharel, the provincial manager at Caritas Nepal was the chief guest and local leaders were the guests. The Event hall was houseful of guests and audience.
The GBO is active in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the UK, and the US and is registered in the US.
The organization aims to provide humanitarian support to victims of natural disasters, pandemics, and political affiliation.
The US raised $16,626 every quarter to provide education to Bhutanese refugee children.
Global Bhutanese Organization has hired an Office secretary in Kathmandu Nepal and has 17 staff in Damak-03, Beldangi Jhapa and 9 in Pathari Sanischare 10, Morang.

Its mission is to provide fundamental aid initiatives that would allow a gradual building of sustainable resources for those affected by a natural disaster, healthcare disparity, and educational deprivation anywhere possible internationally. GBO will mainly focus on delivering the initiatives to internally or internationally displaced populations but not limited to supporting individuals in distress of any kind.
and the vision is carrying humanistic values filled with compassion spreading love, care, and hopes without discrimination to anyone in any form, promoting sustenance, peace, wellness, and growth in an endeavor to erode poverty worldwide.
CEO DB Rai focused on education and health care for Bhutanese refugees in camps. He also requested the community to support the GBO project for humanitarian support. He also stated that this organization helps people for disaster relief. He also thanked sponsors and well wishers of the organization.
